Placid processes approximately 60,000 Bpd of crude oil at the Port Allen, LA refinery. Placid can refine crude oils ranging from 28° to 45° API gravity and sulphur content up to 2.0 wt. % (as % of mass).
Crude oil types purchased for the Port Allen refinery include:
- Louisiana Light Sweet
- Heavy Louisiana Sweet
- Eugene Island Crude
- Bonito Sour
- Mars Sour
- Poseidon Sour
- Bakken
- West Texas and Oklahoma Sweet
Shipments of crude oil are received via:
- Shell Pipeline Company LP’s Redstick Pipeline
- ExxonMobil Pipeline Company’s North and South Pipelines
- Barge and Truck
